Cirrus Migrate Cloud will not start after a kernel update
Issue
On Linux, after performing a system upgrade that includes the kernel version, cirrus migrate cloud software does not start.
Resolution
Due to the temporary nature of migration and to keep the amount of system requirements as minimum as possible, by default cirrus migrate cloud is installed only for the currently active kernel, which means CMC software will have to be reinstalled when kernel version is upgraded.
There are alternative installation methods available that would allow CMC to continue post kernel upgrade, which involves having compilation environment pre-installed on the host. However, due to the nature of migration, it is rarely used. Please contact support for additional details.
